Trip to the Orbit
On Monday, we went to visit The Orbit in the Olympic Park. This half term, we're learning about London and also studying the artist, Stephen Wiltshire. His main focus for his art is drawing cityscapes. So what better way to learn about both, than to see London from above.
The children went on a walk around the Olympic Park to identify physical and human features. They loved exploring new areas of the park and discovering the sheer size of some of the buildings.
The children then enjoyed their lunch and went up the Orbit. Some were nervous being so high up, but many were in awe of the view. They all found a space with a view and drew their own cityscape. We definitely have a few artisit amongst us!
