Year 4 Weekly Activities

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing well at home, keeping up to date with your studies but also relaxing and doing regular exercise.
As well as the usual work posted via our class page on the Downsell web site for Mymaths and Readworks, there are now online lessons on our class page on Google Drive. At the moment, Reading lessons are available for the coming week, with Maths lessons to follow.
Contact the school office in order to access Google Drive, as you need a Username and Password, which they will provide for you.
Lessons will continue to be uploaded on a weekly basis. Please upload your work so I can give some feedback on how you’ve done!
Maths and Reading
Work continues to be assigned to pupils in accordance to the levels in which they are currently working. Maths work is set via ‘Mymaths’, whilst reading texts and questions are found at ‘Readworks’.
Writing
Children to complete one CGP English workout on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday to Friday, children need to log on to ‘The Literacy Shed’ and create a piece of writing based upon a video.
This week’s task is ‘Tadeo Jones’ based upon an Egyptian theme.

Tad is an adventurer who finds himself in the depths of an Egyptian tomb! For this activity, we would like you to:-
- Write a diary entry from Tadeo’s point of view once he has completed his adventure.
- Describe the setting. Think about the array of colours, the shadows and the light.
- Create a short narrative story.
